"Achieving More With Less"

Each year, Old Republic entertains clients and brokers at the annual RIMS conference by hosting a daily hospitality suite and one large event during the week-long conference. These events have been expensive and attendance spotty.

For RIMS 2008 in San Diego, Old Republic wanted their promotional efforts to be far more effective, but also less costly. We recommended they host only a single event, limit attendance to top customers and brokers and make the event more personal.

Old Republic purchased tickets to a Sunday afternoon San Diego Padres game, and Street Cance developed a promotional package for the 60 customers and brokers invited. The package, or invitation, was created around the theme of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”. Included was a personalized invitation along with a San Diego Padres cap, baseball (signed by Old Republic staff), peanuts and a box of Cracker Jack – all with the Old Republic logo.

Each package cost less than $50 each, and even with the price of the tickets, it was the least expensive promotion of any RIMS conference. And, of the 60 invitees, more than 50 attended, making it by far the most successful and well-attended event for Old Republic at RIMS.
